The chief executive officer, Trendsetting Events, Yaw Ofei-Nkansah was the director of special events, Ghana Tourism Authority with vast experience in corporate and entertainment events.

It was his tenure as the eastern regional director, Ghana Tourism Authority that they conceptualized and organized the first ever tourism awards in the history of the Authority in eastern region, the then board of directors of the Authority adopted the event and director that, it must be held in the then ten regions of the country with the national event in Accra, which is now known as the Ghana Tourism Awards.

The sponsorship for those awards in the then ten regions and the national event were syndicated by the eastern regional office, Ghana Tourism Authority, under his leadership for many years.

Ofei-Nkansah worked with Marino Ventures to introduce Miss Ghana Pageant and Ghana Dance Competition, both events were organized in the then ten regions of the country with the national event in Accra. Thanks to Frank Edwards-Idun, managing director, Marino Ventures.

The Ghana Tourism Authority organized a domestic tourism trip from Accra to the Akosombo dam for the public to familiarize themselves with how power is generated from the dam, which was named Trip’ 84 with more than twenty-five buses involved apart from those who travelled with their own transport, that event which was outstanding in domestic tourism in respect of participation was organized with Ofei-Nkansah as the coordinator.

He was one of the employees of Ghana Tourism Authority who conceived and organized beach events at Labadi Pleasure Beach which became known as ‘Meet Me There’ and currently the biggest beach events in Ghana.

Yaw Ofei-Nkansah managed Kojo Antwi (a renowned Ghanaian musician) for eleven years (1995-2006) and coordinated Steel Pulse and Kojo Antwi musical concert at the National Theatre. He was part of the organization of Alpha Blonde musical concerts at Accra and Kumasi sports stadia. Thanks to Frank Akabutu, the promoter of the concert.

He was a member of the committee that organized the World Tourism Organization conference in Ghana and under his leadership as the eastern regional director, organized the durbar of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs for the World Tourism Organization delegation who were in the country at Koforidua.

The chief executive officer was a member of the team that organized Osibisa and Musical Youth musical concerts held at Accra and Kumasi sports stadia. Thanks to Kojo Bonsu of Agoo magazine fame.

He has been  part of tourism events in Ghana such as Emancipation, PANAFEST (Pan African Festival), Inter-Tourism (International Tourism Fair and Exhibition), Homowo Nights ( which were his concept) etc.

Ofei-Nkansah was a member of the planning committees that organized GIFEX (Ghana International Furniture Exhibition) and INDUTECH (Ghana industry and technology fair). He conceptualized and organized INDUTECH (Ghana industry and technology fair) and GIFEX (Ghana international furniture exhibition) nights, which were award and entertainment events after each exhibition at the State Banqueting Hall in Accra.

Yaw Ofei-Nkansah has coordinated some fashion shows, notably among them were, Chez Julie (considered as Ghana’s foremost fashion designer) fashion show organized by Ghana Tourism Authority at the  State Banqueting Hall, Accra.

He also coordinator the Association of Ghana Industries 10th anniversary fashion show at the Accra International Conference Center sponsored by GTP (Ghana Textile Printing Company Limited) with the late Kofi Ansah (a renowned Ghanaian fashion designer) as the main designer of the night, that fashion show was beamed live on GTV (Ghana Television) and relayed to CNN (Cable News Network) world report programme.

During one of the eastern regional tourism awards, Chez Julie mounted a catwalk  in Koforidua which became one of the best, if not the best fashion show ever to be organized outside Accra, that was also coordinated by the CEO.
